Robert E. ‘Bob’ Momberger

October 28, 1947 - September 12, 2023

Momberger, Robert E. ‘Bob’, 75, of Windber, passed away on September 12, 2023. Born on October 28, 1947, at home in Dale Borough, to the late Carl Sr. and Pearl (Murphy) Momberger. Preceded in death by parents; infant son, Jody; infant brothers, Carl Jr. and Edwin; in-laws and brother-in-law. Survived by loving wife of 35 years, Connie (Serventi) Momberger; sons, Scott (Dawn), Robert L. (Nancy), and Todd (Cassy); eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Monna Johns; sister-in-law, Cathy Love (Gary); and special nephews and niece, Rick, Brian, Keith, Christian, Rachel, and families. Bob retired from Bethlehem Steel, where he was employed for many years as a bricklayer and was known as “Moose” to his co-workers. Bob was an avid outdoorsman, loving to fish and hunt. He especially enjoyed bird hunting with his beloved dogs during his later years. A special thank you to Rick Roberts and family for all the deer hunting memories. He was also very talented both artistically and musically; drawing, painting, singing, playing guitar, and even writing his own songs. Bob was a prankster from a very young age, quick with a joke, goofy face, or impersonation. He always said he would rather provoke a smile than a tear. Anyone that knew him also knew his famous line, “When I grow up I want to be just like you.” He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank the 6th floor staff at Good Sam/Conemaugh and Windber Hospice, especially Marie, for the care and kindness given to Bob and our family. At the request of the family, there will be no viewing or memorial service. Donations can be made to Windber Hospice in Bob’s memory or directly to the family. Arrangements in care of Simple Alternatives Inc., Affordable Cremation and Sensible Funeral Care. Condolences may be made at SimpleAlternativeCare.com
