Obituary

Daily, John M. “Jack”, 81, Windber passed away February 28, 2024. Born February 27, 1943, to the late John H. and Barbara A. (Markovich). Also preceded in death by sister, Betty L. Jones; brothers in-law, Robert Jones and Roger Knepshield; niece, Amy Knepshield. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janis (Thirkell) Daily. Also survived by children, John J. (Paula) Daily and Jill R. (Jon) Lisson; grandsons, Gavin (Jensen), Darius (Katelyn), and Parker; great granddaughters, Charlotte, Remi, and Aria; special fishing buddy, Tom Hockersmith. Jack loved a lot of things but nothing more than his true love and companion, Janis Daily. He also loved everything outdoors, especially fishing and hunting ginseng. He was a blood donor who gave more than sixteen gallons. Jack was an active member of MT. Calvary Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1^st from 4 to 7pm at Simple Alternative Inc., 717 Main St., Windber, PA 15963. As well as, Saturday, March 2^nd at 9am until the time of service at 10am at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 1000 Scalp Ave., Johnstown, PA 15904, with the committal service at Richland Cemetery. The family would like to thank Windber Hospice and Windber Woods for all the love and care they gave Jack.
