Obituary

Marks, David Dennis Sr., 67, Windber, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family July 24, 2018. Born September 2, 1950 to the late William and Sophia (Ontko) Marks. David was the youngest of eleven children. He is preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survived by loving wife of 46 years, Diane (Toth) Marks; children, David D. Marks Jr. (Iny); Teresa S. Hicks (Mikel); grandchildren, Braiden, Oliver, Tyler, and Bailey Marks; Shane and Izabela Hicks; sister, Florence Block; many brother and sister in-laws; and special baby doll, Daisy. Dave spent his life primarily working in steel fabrication, Advanced Cutting Systems being the last. He also had a 20-year career as a police officer for Windber, Paint Twp. and Paint Borough. Dave was most proud of his service to his country, spending 6 years in the Navy. He was a gentle giant and was loved by everyone who met and knew him. He will be missed by everyone but especially by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday July 28 at Simple Alternatives, Inc., 717 Main St. Windber from 1 p.m. until time of memorial service at 2 p.m. Military honors to follow.
