Obituary

McHugh, Theresa V., 94, Twin Rocks, passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2025. Born on June 29, 1931, in Nanty-Glo, PA to the late Andrew Sr. and Catherine (Phillips) Sekerak. She is preceded in death by her husband, John A. McHugh, and her youngest of seven children, James J. McHugh; brothers Paul, Andrew Jr., and Joseph; sisters Elizabeth, Catherine (Kay), Sophie, and Helen.

Theresa is survived by her children: Dennis (Bonnie) McHugh, Michael (Michelle) McHugh, Robert (Roxanne) McHugh, Mary Kay (Jack) Blickenderfer, Luke (Nikki) McHugh, and Patrick (Sandy) McHugh. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Topor along with several nieces and nephews.

She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, great-grandmother to 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter as well as numerous step great and great-great-grandchildren.

Theresa took great pride in her independence and cherished her home, which was the heart of every holiday and birthday celebration. Family and friends would gather there to laugh, share meals, and play bingo together, one of her favorite traditions.

In addition to her love for bingo, Theresa enjoyed taking casino trips with her daughters-in-law, watching her daily stories, and the Game Show Network. She was the sweetest soul-kind, faithful, and always praying nightly for everyone she knew. She especially cherished visits from her great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, whose laughter and hugs brought her endless joy.

She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew and loved her, including her two kitties, Packer and Blackey. Her spirit of selflessness will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched. She is now at peace with the Heavenly Father and reunited in eternal life with her son, James, and her husband, John.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 10am with a luncheon to follow in loving memory of Theresa at St. John Vianney Church in Mundy’s Corner, PA. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join in celebrating her beautiful life, sharing stories, and remembering the warmth, kindness, and laughter she brought to everyone she met.
