Obituary

Kovach, Steve E., 86, of Johnstown, passed away on June 11, 2024. Born October 12, 1937, son of the late Louis and Marion (Corle) Kovach. Preceded in death by his loving first wife of 46 years, Dorothy (Bowen) Kovach; loving second wife of 10 years, Margaret Kovach (Blair); and son, Steve D. Kovach. Survived by son, James; daughter, Dorelyn ‘Doree’; grandchildren, Cassandra Brown and Hunter Pentz; stepson, Ken Maxwell (Chantel); and stepdaughters, Adina Papinchak (Tim) and Gina Walker (Greg); sisters, Phyllis Johnson and Betty Pahel. Steve was a retired postmaster at the local postal office. He was a US Army Veteran who proudly served our country. Steve also enjoyed participating in events at the Senior Citizen Center, he specifically loved penuckle and jigsaw puzzles.  Steve will be deeply missed by those in his life. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 18^th from 2 P.M. until the time of service at 4 P.M. at Simple Alternatives Inc., 717 Main St., Windber PA 15963.
