Obituary

Shelko, Stacey Jo, 48, Johnstown, passed away peacefully at home February 15, 2020. Born August 25, 1971 to Stanley Shelko and Sandy (Cinko) Gembinski. Preceded in death by father; grandparents; brothers, Robert, Thomas, and Mark Kusch; and many cousins. Survived by mother, whose love had no end. They had a bond that could never be broken. Sisters, Jodi Claar (Tony); Karen Glatz (Richard); Cynthia Ann Fletcher; loving nieces, Samantha, (Godmother to) Nikki, Linzie, Lacey, Hannah Rose; great nephew, Landon; and beloved companion and best fur friend, Daisy. Stacey’s passion was working with troubled teens and kids. She held a degree in criminology and was employed at ACRP Johnstown and Vision Quest Arizona. She wanted to make a difference. Stacey loved wildlife, the great outdoors, picking mushrooms, fishing, traveling, hiking, and skiing. She was a fun, loving person that made everyone laugh and was such a blessing to be around. Friends will be received Friday February 21 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Simple Alternatives, Inc., 717 Main St., Windber, where a service will then be held Saturday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.
