Obituary

Richard “Rick” D. Manges, 77, Windber, died March 23, 2025. Born July 21, 1947, son of the late Orie and Olive (Bowers) Manges. He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Garyl (Gardner); daughter, Richele Faris; his brother and wife, Fred and Dot (Denk) Manges; brother, Gerald Manges; and brother-in-law, Don Eash. Survived by his children, Brandi (Michael) Hammers, Lacy (Joseph) Boratko; and Kelli Manges; grandchildren Brianna, Sophie, Scott, Alexandra, Lucas, Cameron, Carina, Robert and Autumn; great-grandson, Jaxxon; and siblings, Bonnie Eash; Kathy (Serre) Manges; Dan and Barb (Darr) Manges; Larry and Judy (Walker) Manges; Robin and Greg Stufft; and Lori and Denny Custer. Rick was a 1965 graduate of Forbes High School in Kantner, PA. For many years Rick worked as a steelworker, working hard to provide for his family. After retirement, you could always find him with his grandkids, answering all the questions on Jeopardy, in the garden with his flowers or hunting. There will be no service by his request.
