Obituary
Margaret Ann “Peggy” Clark, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She would have celebrated her 95th birthday on December 18th.
Peggy was born and raised in Hooversville, PA, to William Francis and Mary Alberta Carey. After completing high school, she graduated from Cambria-Rowe Business College which led to a career as a Pathology Secretary at Conemaugh Hospital. During this time, Peggy married Garfield “Buddy” Clark and motherhood followed soon thereafter. She was proud of her home and the life they created together. Later, she worked for nearly 20 years as a manager at Howard Johnson’s Restaurant, a position she held with pride and dedication until retiring.
In retirement, Peggy enjoyed flea marketing, collecting antiques, doing puzzles, planting flowers, traveling, and spending time with her family. She loved playing games, especially Hearts, where she was a formidable opponent.
Sharp-minded, witty, loving, and full of personality, Peggy never met a stranger. She had a beautiful singing voice and cherished singing with her children, grandchildren, and beloved sister, Doris. Singing together on birthdays was a special family tradition. She also loved Christmas and made a tradition of choosing Hallmark ornaments for her family, sharing a little piece of her love with each gift.
Above all, Peggy was proud of her six children and the families they created. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her tremendous joy, and her love for her family was evident throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Todovich (John); Deb Rhoads (Bill); Bruce Clark; Barb Ecklund (Rick); and Mardi Starrett (Carl); grandchildren, Anna, Sean, Corey, Dakota (Kirsty), Cree, Connor (Katlyn), Kevin (Lexi), Nathan, Amanda, Alexis, and Ian (Natalie); and great-grandchildren, Vince, Aiden, Kian, Callie, Mara, and Lakelyn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield “Buddy” Clark; longtime companion, Larry Amspacker; son, Richard Clark; son-in-law, Jeff; sisters, Louise, Doris, and Kay; and brother, Bill.
For the past year and a half, Peggy resided at Centre Care Nursing Home in Bellefonte, PA. Her family is sincerely grateful to the nurses and staff there for the kindness, compassion, and loving care they provided.
Peggy leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, music, and traditions that will be carried on through the generations. Though her beautiful voice is now silent, the love and joy she shared will continue to live in the hearts of her family. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Revelations 21:4: “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
