Obituary

Farbo, Joseph Fredrick, 82, Windber, went home to be with his Savior on February 14, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born March 18, 1936 in Windber, son of the late Michael and Catherine (Molosky) Farbo. Preceded in death by sisters, Francis and June; and brothers, Thomas, Ralph, Michael, Raymond, Charles, and David. Survived by his best friend and wife of 57 years, Mary (Madey) Farbo; brother Arthur; children, Catherine married to Robert Spinelli; Joseph A. Farbo; grandchildren Katrina, Noah and Maddalena; great grandchild, Layne; and expected great grandchild. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. He enjoyed working for many years as an auto body technician and painter. Joe was a volunteer and active participant at the Windber Senior Center where he especially enjoyed the pinochle club. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting and fishing and passed his knowledge and passion of the sports on to his family. Joe loved to cook and bake. Everybody loved when Joe would fry up some pan fish or prepare venison. Friends will be received Wednesday February 20 from 2 p.m. until time of memorial service at 6 p.m. at Simple Alternatives, Inc., 717 Main St., Windber.
