Obituary

Bonitz, James J., 76, Windber, passed away April 30, 2026. Son of the late James N. and Genevieve (Decewicz) Bonitz. He was preceded in death by his precious sons, Todd and Brett.

He was survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Sharon (Callihan) Bonitz. Beloved daughter, Amy Bonitz and granddaughter who was the love of his life, his buddy, Olivia James Mock. He also left behind numerous family members who he loved dearly.

Jim enjoyed and appreciated his visits and phone calls with his friend, Joe Russo. In memory of Jim, we ask that if you know someone who is a shut-in, be a Joe and check in often. A special thank you to his Windber Hospice Care Team, Heather, Marie and Nick. At Jame’s request there will not be a services at this time.
