Obituary

Marcinko – Edward “Ed”, of Windber died June 6, 2024, at Crichton Center Inpatient Unit. Born May 9, 1942, in Seanor, Pennsylvania. Son of John and Anna (Vinosky). Preceded in death by parents; son Thomas E. Marcinko, and brothers Joseph and John Marcinko. Survived by wife of 55 years, Patricia K (Jones) Marcinko; daughter Carralee (Marcinko)Silka, wife of Jeffrey F. Silka of Cumberland, MD and grandson Christopher J. Silka. Sister, Verna “Betty” Lebosky of Windber; brother, George (Donna) Marcinko of Manheim Pa. and Paul (Sandra) Marcinko of Windber Pa; sister-in-law, Sally Marcinko of Frederick MD and his special friend, Madison Myers of Shepherdstown, WV. Ed was a proud veteran of the US Army, Pennsylvania Army National Guard and a member of the Windber VFW. He was a retired postal worker from the Windber Post office. Ed greatly enjoyed the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and foraging for wild mushrooms. He was an avid sports fan – especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates – which he loved discussing with Christopher. Ed was an active member of the Windber Polish Falcons and the Windber American-Polish Educational club where he socialized regularly with friends. He was a devout Catholic who attended mass regularly at SS Cyril and Methodius Church in Windber. Friends received from 9 to 1030 am, Tuesday June 11 at Simple Alternatives Funeral Home – 717 Main Street, Windber, PA followed by a funeral mass at SS Cyril and Methodius Church, 604 Graham Avenue, Windber, PA.
