Obituary

Venet, Thomas A. “Sugarbear”, 73, Windber, passed away January 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. Born August 1, 1951, in Johnstown. Survived by his loving family and friends. Tom graduated from Richland High School in 1969. He enjoyed volunteering at Life Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church, and with the Bible to School program. Tom had a love for Jesus and was always giving to others. For many years, Tom worked in the steel mills and then worked as an LPN at Church of the Brethren Home, now Windber Woods. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed fishing, and the outdoors. Tom also loved visiting Cape May, New Jersey. Special thank you to Mrs. Christine Sullivan, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Papinchak, and Windber Hospice for their caring support. At Tom’s request there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. February 15, 2025, at Life Church, 107 Bantley Pl, Windber, PA 15963. Tom will forever be in our hearts, and he will truly be missed.
