Obituary

Pierce, Robert Wayne, 60, Windber, formerly of Odenton, MD, lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer on December 26, 2016. Born September 24, 1956 in Fairbanks, AK; son of the late George Leonard and Ruth Jane (Bond) Pierce. Survived by daughters, Bobbi Pierce, and boyfriend, Alex Brown, and Tala Pierce, both of Windber; sisters, JoAnn Finley, married to Matt, and Ginger Pierce, both of Odenton, MD; best friend, Wendy Pierce, Windber; nieces, Carey Phelps, married to Adam, and Krista Gonzalez married to Al; 2 great nieces and 4 great nephews. Robert was retired from the U.S. Army and Frederick City Police Dept. He later worked at Best Buy as part of the Asset Protection Team. Member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Friends received Tuesday, Jan. 3rd, 2017 from 1 pm until time of service at 2 pm at Simple Alternatives, Inc., 717 Main St., Windber, PA 15963, Pastor Kirk Rowland, officiating. Military Ritual by Windber VFW. Robert will be entombed at Arlington National Cemetery. Family requests donations be made to John P. Murtha Regional Cancer Center in Robert’s memory.
