Gates, Annmarie, was peacefully welcomed into heaven on December 7th after a prolonged illness. Preceded in death by parents, John and Rose (Pierre) Gates. Survived by sister, Linda (Gates) Zindash and her husband Nick; nieces and nephews, Gina Cordutsky (John); Nicholas Zindash (Kim Erb); Lisa Ursino (Gary); Marisa Smith (Greg); Christopher Zindash (Marina); Lynda Zindash (Jeff Reese); and David Zindash (Jennifer Holland); as well as their 14 grandchildren; one great grandson; and numerous cousins in the Pierre, Trovato, Morbitt and Constantino families. Annmarie lived and worked in Windber all her life. She was a graduate of Windber High School class of 1964. Annmarie was a woman of exceptional beauty, well known for her friendliness and love of many sports, especially the Steelers, Pirates, and college football. Annmarie enjoyed shopping, laughing and holidays with sister Linda and her family. She especially enjoyed Linda’s great grandson David (Olivia Cordutsky) with whom she shared an extra special love and bond. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday December 14th at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Richland. Annmarie’s ashes will be scattered at a later date in New York City and Sedona Arizona per her request. Auntie, we hope you are enjoying your walks with “Scruff” in heaven…. Until we see you again.
