Waters, Gary (Butch), 71, of Salix, PA, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 8, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esther and George Waters; brother Fred Waters Sr., of Vintondale; infant brother Charles; and his loving brothers-in-law, Joseph (Pudge) Kissel, Phoenix, AZ, and William Luther, Clyde, PA. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda (Boyer) Waters; sister, Terri (Waters) Blankenbicker and husband, Ed of Armagh, PA; sister, Donna Luther of Clyde, PA; brother, George and wife, Emily of New Florence, PA; sister, Marie Schrift and husband, Wally of NC; and sister-in-law, Delores Waters. Gary had nine nephews and eight nieces. Gary had one daughter, Tracey, married to Terry Summers, Westmont, PA, who Gary said was the son he never had; and his three grandchildren were his greatest loves, Savannah, Wyatt, and Brookelyn. Gary was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers since he was eight years old. He was a member of the Cambria County Beagle Club, where he raised hunting beagles and competed in beagle trials. Gary served in the Army and then became employed by North American Coal Company as a surveyor, Jandy Coal Co, and Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company, where he worked his way up to the position of superintendent. A memorial service will be held Friday July 21, 2017, at 5:00 pm at Simple Alternatives, 717 Main Street, Windber, PA.
